UDYAM MSME REGISTRATION FOR PROPRIETORSHIP FIRM
There is a common query that a sole proprietorship company applies for msme registration or udyam registration or udyog aadhaar?
Well the answer is yes, a sole proprietorship firm can register their business under the msme udyam registration portal.
There are several entities via which one might register their firm. The proprietorship firm is one of the most frequent types of business in India. The major reason entrepreneurs begin with the business model is that there is no other party involved. Under the MSMED Act, you can register a Proprietorship Firm in Udyam. The success or failure of a sole proprietorship firm is entirely dependent on one individual. We provide Udyam Registration/MSME Registration services throughout India and handle your registration application within one day.
Note: On February 1, 2021, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will introduce the Union Budget 2021. This Budget is projected to provide a significant boost to the MSME sector. Experts believe that the Centre could simply implement GST and decrease the rate from 18% to 5% on professional services to help MSMEs.
Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises
The previous MSME categorization was based on investment in plant and machinery or equipment. As a result, in order to enjoy the MSME advantages, MSMEs were required to limit their investment to a lower amount, as detailed below:
Existing MSME Classification
Sector | Criteria | Micro | Small | Medium |
Manufacturing | Investment | < Rs.25 lakh | < Rs.5 crore | < Rs.10 crore |
Services | Investment | < Rs.10 lakh | < Rs.2 crore | < Rs.5 crore |
Because they couldn’t extend their company any further, these lower boundaries were destroying their will to grow. There was also a long-standing desire for the adjustment of MSME categorization so that they might grow their activities while still receiving MSME benefits.
Thus, the government updated the MSME categorization under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan (ABA) by including composite criteria of both investment and yearly sales. In addition, the MSME definition no longer distinguishes between the manufacturing and service industries. This elimination resulted in sector parity.
The updated MSME categorization is as follows, where investment and yearly turnover are both taken into account when determining an MSME:
Revised MSME Classification
Criteria | Micro | Small | Medium* |
Investment & Annual Turnover | < Rs.1 crore & < Rs.5 crore | < Rs.10 crore & < Rs.50 crore | < Rs.50 crore & < Rs.250 crore |
To encourage entrepreneurship, the government offers small firms specific benefits in the form of subsidies and incentives. Banks also offer low-interest loans to help small enterprises get started. Small enterprises must register under the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Act in order to get these benefits.
If a firm is registered under the MSMEs Act, it can receive multiple benefits such as lower bank loans, tax breaks, priority during the tender process, and access to other government initiatives and incentives.
When it comes to business registration in India, there are many provisions. The sole proprietorship firm is a prominent type of business entity in India. If you wish to register a single proprietorship business in India, you may do it in one of three methods.

GST Registration – If a company’s ROI exceeds a specific threshold, it must register for GST. The ceiling is Rs. 40 lakhs for those who offer products and Rs. 20 lakhs for those who provide services.
MSME stands for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. These sectors serve as the backbone of emerging economies such as India. MSME accounts for 45 percent of overall industrial employment, 50 percent of total exports from India, and 95 percent of all industrial units. When MSMEs expand, the country’s economy expands as well.
