The Indian government recently launched a program called Udyam Registration to support the nation’s small companies. In the process, Udhyog Aadhar registration and Udyam registration were combined. Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSME) must apply for Udyam registration in order to be eligible for government incentives.

It used to take a lot of documentation to begin the process of SSI or MSME registration. Entrepreneur Memorandum-I (EM-I) and Entrepreneur Memorandum-II were the forms that needed to be completed (EM-II). Aadhar Udyog was developed as an easier method of registering SSIs and MSMEs. Registered industries can now easily apply for loans and receive government subsidies thanks to Udyog Aadhar.

By December 31, 2021, businesses or entrepreneurs with Udyog Aadhaar Registration must migrate to Udyam Registration in order to be eligible for MSME benefits. If business owners do not move to Udyam Registration, they must re-register under Udyam Portal in order to receive MSME incentives.

Udyam Registration Process

Owners of SMEs (Small and Medium Scale Enterprises) had to complete a one-page form, which they could do online or offline. The applicant has to go to the official website to register online.

A person must choose individual registration if they wish to register for multiple industries.

An MSME must self-certify on this form their existence, information about their business, their bank account, ownership information, and employment details.

During the registration process, people had to present self-certified certifications.

There was no charge for registration.

Once the data is filled out, uploaded, and sent to the email address listed in the UAM, which should contain the specific UAN, the registration number will be produced (Udyog Aadhaar Number).

The Udyog Aadhar registration UAM process is no longer open. One must submit an application for Udyam Registration in order to receive an MSME Udyog Aadhar registration. Similar to the UAM Registration method is the Udyam Registration process. For MSME registration, there is no longer an offline registration procedure.
